**Welcome Newsbusters, AofS, Olbermannwatch and HotAir Readers**
9/26/07 6:22pm - David Shuster issues an on-air apology for identifying the wrong soldier. Newsbusters.org has the text and video.
I think David should send Pvt. Bohannon's family a personal note of apology for exploiting their son in this shameful way. My heart goes out to them. Every soldier is someone's relative, friend, spouse, parent or neighbor. They aren't just to be used for political shenanigans.
9/26/07 4:58pm - Congresswoman Blackburn's office has contacted me and said that David Shuster will be issuing an apology tonight on MSNBC. We'll see.
9/26/07 2:02pm - Newsbusters.org updates the story here. Congresswoman Blackburn's office has confirmed he does not live in her district.

MAJOR UPDATE: I did a little research on the soldier (Pvt. Jeremy Bohannon) mentioned in this segment. He was from the town of Bon Aqua, TN. I looked up his last name and town in www.whitepages.com and found the 9 digit zip-code associated with the address listed (it was the only listing). I went to the "Write Your Representative" web site and put in the 9 digit zip code + TN. Guess what I found! The young man did NOT live in Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn's district 7. That particular address/zip code resides in District 8, represented by Congressman John Tanner (D-TN). Now assuming that all of this research is accurate based upon the information provided at the WaPo site and the US House of Representatives site, then David Shuster was WRONG! When will MSNBC issue a correction?

Okay, this is just outrageous! David Shuster substitutes on Tucker Carlson's show on MSNBC and drills Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) about a soldier's death. Shuster tries to tie the moveon.org ad in the New York Times to her lack of knowledge of the name of the last soldier who died in her district. He's feigning surprise at her ignorance of a soldier's name but she knows so much about a moveon.org ad. Could it be because the MSM hasn't discussed this soldier's name in the press for the last 2 weeks? Watch the video.
He wants to insinuate hypocrisy. Would he have blind-sided Barack Obama with that same question? Now all politicians will be prepared to answer that question. There is absolutely no credibility to his comparison and he was just downright obnoxious. This guy has to have some kind of mental deficiency. I loathe when the MSM uses this type of tactic, regardless of political bias. No wonder MSNBC has such low ratings.

You go girl!!!
CB, this is good work, but I don't think it is quite as conclusive as you're claiming. I found that single entry in whitepages.com too---but it isn't Pvt. Bohannon or his parents, it's a different Bohannon. Presumably they are related. But 9-digit ZIP codes are so specific that you really need the exact address for Pvt. Bohannon to be sure. If you go only by the 5-digit zip, you find that it could be in any of three congressional districts, including Marsha Blackburn's.
I think there is quite a bit of circumstantial evidence to support Tanner's district, however. I found addresses of friends and known relatives and all were in TN-8.
Oh, and he lists his hometown as Dickson, TN, not Bon Aqua, TN, on his MySpace page. (link) That's the best evidence yet, because Dickson city and county is completely in Tanner territory.
MCG, Thanks. As I stated, under the assumption that the WaPo has his information correct and that the only listing for Bohannan in Bon Aqua is possibly his parents, then he would be in Tanner's district. Regardless, I am not an investigative reporter and would not presume to call his parents to verify so I sent the tip to a news source who could do so, to confirm.
Newsbusters says they have obtained the offician Dept. of the Army casualty announcement for Pvt. Bohannon---the one they sent to Rep. Tanner! Looks like this one is standing up.
Wow, you got picked up by Newsbusters!
Sinistar, I know. I'm kind of in shock over it all. Congresswoman Blackburn is a Mississippi native and I just got angry at the treatment by Shuster towards a fellow belle.
I put up my post on it, and the Newsbusters story got picked up at HotAir.
I saw that! Wow. Maybe they'll let me comment over at HotAir some day soon. Heh.
Newsbusters has the apology up.
Yes, they emailed me about it as they were taping it. I put a link at the top of my post with my comments about the apology.
