BlogNetNews is a fantastic site that I have been using/reading for about 6 months now. I am not quite sure how I would keep up with so many blogs without it. It is one-stop-shopping for the blogosphere.

Here's why it ranks so highly with me. I am completely dependent on Google Reader to preview and read web sites and blogs. Most blogs have an RSS feed associated with them. Rather than having a hundred or so blogs and sites in my Google Reader, I sign up for groups that have been created in BlogNetNews. For example, the Cotillion has a "blogdom" group. If you click on that link, you will find posts from the Cotillion members consolidated into one group. You can peruse the headlines and click on the posts of interests. The really nice feature is that you can subscribe to the entire group and get one feed in your RSS reader.

BlogNetNews also has blogs and news groups divided by states. There is even a group for Mississippi! And don't miss the Rightyblogs.com site, which also organizes by state. This brings me to the main point of this post.

I have been asked to be the BlogNetNews editor for Mississippi and have accepted the job. From this point forward, I'll be responsible for maintaining this list. This is strictly voluntary, and I'm looking forward to the challenge.

So here is your challenge. Go check out BlogNetNews and Rightyblogs. Find your state on the map and look to see if you are listed. If you aren't, then click on the FAQ or Contact links at the top right and request to be added. It's that simple.

That's cool; thanks for the tip. I have been thinking about paying more attention to my state blogs, so this is a very helpful resource.

And I was already listed on the Vermont blogs on both sites. Yea me! (Or 'yay' me, I suppose is the proper internet spelling.)

Charity, That's great. I had to get placed in the right location because I was originally under GA (the whole Tara/Scarlett thing).

Beth, I thought about this when I created the blogroll. I have been trying to get DPUD to use RSS feeds for months! I'll email him about it.

I'll go ahead and email BNN about doing it and if he gives me the clear, I'll maintain that list too.
