I would like to welcome the Democrats of Congress out from underneath their rocks. Welcome to real America.
It seems a recent delegation of Congressional Democrats are touring through the Katrina-ravaged areas of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and New Orleans area. Congresswoman Laura Richardson (D-CA) had this reaction after she didn't see a utopia in the region, nearly 3 years after the storm. [emphasis mine]
What is with these folks who continue to be appalled at their country? How about your country is appalled with you? Or haven't you seen how the American people really feel about Congress? Your approval ratings are appalling.
Congratulations to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who also made an appearance today in New Orleans. I guess the ostrich needs to take her head out of the sand every now and then, long enough for a sound bite in the press at least. I hope the heat and humidity of the region didn't melt off your make-up, Honey.
And from the comments linked to the story, it appears she got a dose of that Southern hospitality we are so famous for here. [smirk]

Rep. Laura Richardson, D-Calif., said seeing a family living inside a small, federally issued trailer made her question, "Do we live in America?"Appalled! Outraged! Shameful!
"I was appalled, being an American, living in California, seeing what our people are going through," she said. Richardson gave credit to the Democratic-led Congress for keeping attention on the region.

Hey Pelosi, how about you stop holding up the Drill Here Drill Now initiative?
How about you let our country's representatives make the decision whether or not to drill offshore and Alaska?
